Out & About in Paris

Around holiday time, the shop windows were festively adorned, tempting even the most weary-eyed traveller to enter and behold all the exquisite treasurers within.  We peered into the Hermès flagship, marveled at an all white carousal at Place de Vendome, savored every sweet bite at Laduree, and strolled by the most perfect little floral shop.

Paris {Part II}

I am a devoted fan of French macarons and although Ladurée has long since opened up shop in the states, I cannot resist stopping by to sample some of its delectable pastries. There were so many tempting desserts on the menu, it was difficult to choose and so we ended up with three.  A perfect afternoon indulgence, indeed.

To live among so much breathtaking beauty and history must be something locals become accustomed to after awhile, but as visitors we marvel and gasp at the richness and abundance of it all time and time again.  I will never tire of coming to Paris.

One more report on Paris to come … Have a marvelous weekend everyone!

New York City {Part III}

New York was an ideal city for testing out our new Sony Nex-7 camera {Many heartfelt thanks to CHI}.  So much power in a little camera.  We are looking forward to experimenting with photography and sharing even more amazing images with you in the coming months.  Have a splendid weekend and hope you enjoyed seeing New York City through our eyes this week.

New York City {Part II}

One of my favorite spots in the city after shopping at the inimitable Bergdorf Goodman, right outside of the storied Plaza Hotel, where the fountain flows freely near fuchsia tulips in bloom and where all the horse-drawn carriages await revelers of Central Park.

No visit to New York is complete without going to Madison park for a Shake Shack burger and concrete {i.e., the Concrete Jungle}, Ladurée for delectable macarons in inventive flavors, Soba-ya for delicious lunch sets, and all the lovely shops in Soho.

A new addition to our culinary repertoire is the Beagle in the East Village.  We were impressed by the refreshing flavors of the well-mixed cocktails as well as the straight forward charm of the ambiance.  The perfectly seared foie gras served on a cheddar pancake was out of this world … a truly outstanding meal.

For a serious ramen connoisseur, Ippudo is a Must Do despite the long lines.  The rich flavor of the broth, perfectly cooked noodles, tasty appetizers and desserts make it all worth the wait.  Ramen, perfected.
